We are Wouter and Lisa, parents of Pim. His first book took us months of evenings and weekends, and BoekjesAtelier grew out of it. We still build and run the platform ourselves, and with our background in cybersecurity we handle the photos you upload with care.

Questions about your toddler’s book
Does this book suit a 2- or 3-year-old?
You can tailor the story to your child’s age and interests. Try one simple adventure and a familiar cuddly toy. The Otis example has four short lines per spread. Browse the whole example to decide whether the text and illustrations suit your reading time together.
Is this a board book?
It is a hardcover with paper inside pages, not a board book. The book measures 21 × 21 cm and has 24 pages. It is designed for looking and reading together.
Can a favorite cuddly toy join in?
Yes. Add a photo of the toy and briefly describe it. You can include one extra character. This could also be a parent, sibling or pet.
How personal is the book?
You provide your child’s name, a photo and story details. We use these to create the story and AI illustrations. You can give feedback on the story, then edit text and illustrations. Before ordering, check that you are happy with the likeness and all the details.
Can I preview the book, and what does it cost?
Yes. Creating and previewing the complete book is free. You order the hardcover when you are happy with it. The first copy costs €34.95, plus €3.50 shipping per order.
When will my book be dispatched?
After ordering, your book is printed and dispatched within 3–4 business days. We deliver to the Netherlands and Belgium.
