Where It All Began: The Adventures of Pim

The personal story behind BoekjesAtelier: from an early experiment with AI to a platform where everyone can create a personalized children's book.

In December 2024, we became the proud parents of our son Pim. We soon started reading to him.

The Idea

Soon an idea emerged: what if we could create a personalized storybook where Pim himself plays the main role? Not only with his name, but in the style of his birth announcement and with a character that truly resembles him with his big blue eyes and his cuddly fox.

The Development

We started experimenting with AI and built a first version. In our spare hours, we tested, adjusted, and refined for months. The result was The Adventures of Pim: a unique book, inspired by his birth announcement with a blue hot air balloon.

From 3 Months to 10 Minutes

Meanwhile, the technology has improved so much that we saw the opportunity to develop this into software that makes it possible for everyone. The big difference? Instead of 3 months, you now create a personalized children's book in 10 minutes.

BoekjesAtelier Today

We are proud of what's here now: a website where everyone can create their own personalized book. Developed with great care and with an eye for safety and privacy.

We hope that many children get to enjoy their own storybook and that parents will be surprised with this super personal (birth) gift.
