The children follow the trail together. One spots the next hoofprint. The other remembers the carrot they left in their shoe. Perhaps that will help.
The trail passes places they know: the playground, the bench on the corner and their own back garden. There is the horse, quietly nibbling a bush. They use the carrot to lead it back to Sinterklaas.
